Shelly Sharma, MD is an Interventional Pain Medicine Specialist who is specialized in both anesthesia and pain medicine.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Drexel University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences, she then received her medical degree from St. George’s University.
Dr. Sharma trained in anesthesiology at Rutger’s New Jersey Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. She then completed an interventional pain medicine fellowship at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Dr. Sharma has a multimodal approach to the treatment of chronic pain which including medication management to interventional therapies. Dr. Sharma’s areas of clinical expertise include treatment of chronic neck and back pain, chronic headache/migraine, neuropathic pain and cancer pain. She performs a variety of interventional procedures such epidural steroid injections, facet injections, various joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, sympathetic blocks, peripheral nerve blocks and neuromodulation therapies.
She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologist and the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain medicine.
